Day 1: Tbilisi - Sighnaghi - Bodbe - Tsinandali - Telavi

 

  • Depart from Tbilisi and drive to Sighnaghi, a charming hilltop town known as the "City of Love."

  • Visit the Bodbe Monastery, a significant religious site with beautiful gardens and the final resting place of St. Nino, a key figure in Georgian Christianity.

  • Proceed to Tsinandali, home to the Tsinandali Estate, where you can explore the beautiful gardens and visit the wine cellar with a rich collection of Georgian wines.

Day 1

  • Morning: Arrival in Kutaisi (Imereti Region)

  • Upon arrival at Kutaisi Airport or any designated meeting point, you will be greeted by a local guide who will ac- company you throughout the tour.

  • Departure to the Hotel in Kutaisi, check-in and rest for 3 hours.

  • Enjoy a traditional Georgian lunch at a local restaurant.

  • Visiting Bagrati Cathedral, an iconic 11th-century masterpiece and a UN- ESCO World Heritage site. Admire the stunning architecture and learn about its historical significance.

  • Gelati Monastery, founded in the 12th century by King David the Builder. Explore the main church, the acade- my, and the beautiful frescoes that adorn the walls.    • Motsameta Monastery, situated on a cliff overlooking the Rioni River. This holy site is associated with two martyred brothers, and its tranquil setting makes it an excellent place for prayer and reflection.

  • In the evening, Kutaisi city tour.

  •  Continue to Anchiskhati Basilica, the oldest surviving church in Tbilisi, dating back to the 6th century.

  • Simon Janashia Museum of Georgia: Adjacent to the Georgian National Gallery, you’ll find the Simon Janashia Museum of Georgia. This museum covers Georgia’s archaeological and historical artifacts, provid- ing insights into the nation’s past.

  • Boat ride on Mtkvari river.

Day 5

  • Breakfast

  • Depart for Mtskheta, a short drive from Tbilisi and a significant religious center in Georgia.

  • Visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most sacred places in the country. It is believed to house the robe of Jesus Christ.

  • Continue to Jvari Monastery, located on a hilltop with breathtaking views of Mtskheta and the surrounding landscapes. This early Georgian Christian church is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

  • Enjoy a traditional Georgian lunch at a local restaurant.

  •  After lunch, visit the Samtavro Monastery, an ancient complex that includes a church and a nunnery. It is associated with the life of Saint Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity.

  • If time permits, you can visit the nearby Shio-Mgvime Monastery, a peaceful cave monastery complex.

  • In the afternoon, return to Tbilisi and dinner in the hotel

Day 6 - VISITING KAKHETI (2 HOUR DRIVING FROM TBILISI)

  • Alaverdi  Monastery:  Start  your  day  early and head to the Alaverdi Monastery, which dates back to the 6th century. The monas- tery complex includes a cathedral, wine cel- lar, and a peaceful garden. Take a moment to explore the ancient grounds and attend a prayer service if possible.

  • Ikalto Monastery: From Alaverdi, make your way  to  the  Ikalto  Monastery,  founded  in the 6th century. The monastery was once a prominent center of education and culture in Georgia. Explore the ruins of the Acade- my and the Church of the Transfiguration.

  • Lunch in local restaurant

  •  Shuamta Monasteries: As the day winds down, visit the Shuamta Monastic Complex, which consists of three different monasteries: Dzveli (Old) Shuamta, Akhali (New) Shuamta, and Dziragebi. These monasteries offer a peaceful and spiritual ambiance, making them ideal for reflection and prayer.

  • In Kvareli, you will find “Meghineoba Khareba” - a wine cellar carved into the rock. Here you can check “Rkatsiteli”, “Saferavi”, “Manavi green” and other kind of Georgian traditional wine.
